In our lifetime, most people average meeting around 80,000 new people.

This doesn't even include the shoulders you brush past, the doors you didn't open and the 'good mornings' that you were too busy to mutter.

Having considered all this, all the people that you actually 'meet', are in a way - the chosen ones. The ones that, through sheer luck or the plan of God or methodical probability, ended up crossing paths with you.

On that one day,

In the same place,

Another '1' walked into your life.

If you think about the people you meet that, you ordinarily wouldn't have met. If you didn't happen to go on that holiday, if you didn't happen to bond over a book you were both reading at a coffee shop, if you chose to go to one university over another. Your life could be summarised in a tree diagram full of missed opportunities and people you never met.

But -

Those that have been in your life, were the chosen ones.

The ones whose tree diagram happens to overlap with yours.

The ones who made millions of choices prior to your encounter in order to perfectly time...

That exact moment.

That exact place.

That exact person.

...to appear in your life.

If you think of people this way...you could say...fate brought you together.

and that makes your interaction, quite magical.

I often wonder - if you forced two people into a room, even if they entered on the premise that they both hated each other, over time, how much of that tension would ease. Over more time, how much of that hate could turn into neutrality. Over how much more time, would it take to force those two people, to finally understand each other, and

get along...

“Do not think that time simply flies away. Do not understand “flying” as the only function of time. If time simply flew away, a separation would exist between you and time. So if you understand time as only passing, then you do not understand the time being.   To grasp this truly, every being that exists in the entire world is linked together as moments in time, and at the same time they exist as individual moments of time. Because all moments are the time being, they are your time being.”
